The line graph illustrates per capita carbon dioxide emissions in three countries over the three decades from 1990 to 2020.

Overall, Country A's emissions declined steadily, while Country C's rose consistently. Country B followed a more complex pattern, peaking around 2010 before declining.

In 1990, Country A had by far the highest emissions at 18 tonnes per person, compared with 8 tonnes in Country B and just 3 tonnes in Country C.

Over the next 30 years, Country A's emissions fell steadily to 10 tonnes by 2020. Country C, starting from the lowest base, saw a continuous rise, more than doubling to 8 tonnes. Country B increased gradually to a peak of 12 tonnes in 2010, after which it declined to 9 tonnes by 2020.

By the end of the period, the gap between the three countries had narrowed considerably. Country A still had the highest per capita emissions, but it was now closely followed by Country C, while Country B had fallen to the middle position.
