审题要点

考点 说明
题型 Agree/Disagree——必须明确表态,不能两边都说完不选边
关键词 "schools should teach" vs "responsibility of parents"——核心是"谁来教"
立场 本文立场:学校应该教,因为家庭环境差异大、学校有系统课程
陷阱 不要只说"理财很重要",要论证"为什么学校比家庭更合适"

范文(约 310 词)

Whether financial literacy should be taught in schools or left to parents is a matter of debate. While family plays an obvious role in shaping children's attitudes towards money, I strongly believe that schools have a vital and irreplaceable role to play.

The primary argument for teaching money management at school is that not all parents are equipped to do so well. Children from disadvantaged backgrounds may grow up in households where budgeting is poorly handled, and they may never receive any formal guidance on saving, investing or avoiding debt. Schools, by contrast, provide a universal and neutral curriculum that reaches every child, regardless of their family's financial knowledge or habits. A structured course on budgeting, interest rates and consumer awareness can equip young people with practical skills they will use for the rest of their lives.

Furthermore, schools are better positioned to deliver this knowledge in a systematic and age-appropriate way. While parents may offer scattered advice, teachers can design progressive programmes that build from simple concepts — such as the difference between needs and wants — to more complex topics like mortgages, taxes and credit scores. This structured approach ensures that students gain a coherent understanding rather than a haphazard set of tips.

Admittedly, parents remain the most powerful influence on their children's relationship with money. Children learn spending habits largely by watching their parents. However, this is precisely why school-based education matters: it provides a safety net for those whose home environment does not teach sound financial habits.

In conclusion, while parents should continue to model responsible financial behaviour, schools must take responsibility for teaching the formal mechanics of money management. Leaving it entirely to families risks leaving the most vulnerable children behind.
