Q1: Where are you from?

Well, I'm from Yinchuan, which is the capital city of Ningxia in northwest China. It's a medium-sized city sitting right on the Yellow River, so it's actually greener than most people expect for a place in that region.

Q2: Do you like your hometown?

Yes, I do, quite a lot actually. The pace of life is pretty relaxed compared to big cities like Beijing or Shanghai, and the food there is amazing — especially the hand-pulled noodles and lamb dishes. The only thing I'd change is the winter, which can be really dry and cold.

Q3: Has your hometown changed much in recent years?

Oh, absolutely, it's changed beyond recognition. When I was a kid, there were hardly any tall buildings, but now the city centre is full of shopping malls and apartment blocks. The public transport has improved a lot too — they built a new bus rapid transit system a few years ago, which makes getting around much easier.

Q4: What do people in your hometown like to do in their free time?

Hmm, that's a good question. A lot of people enjoy outdoor activities because we have some nice parks along the river. Older people often do square dancing or tai chi in the evenings, while younger people tend to hang out in cafes or go to the cinema. And of course, eating out is a huge social activity there — people love gathering for hot pot or barbecue on weekends.

Q5: Would you like to go back to live in your hometown in the future?

That's something I think about quite often. On one hand, my family is there and the cost of living is much lower, so it would be comfortable. On the other hand, career opportunities are more limited compared to major cities. I guess it depends on what happens with my work — if I could find a good job there, I'd seriously consider moving back.
