The family member I admire most is my grandmother on my mother's side. She's in her late seventies now, sharp as a tack, and still lives on her own in the small apartment where she raised my mum.
What strikes me about her is her sheer resilience. She grew up in a rural village during a difficult period, left school at fourteen to work in a factory, and basically built her life from nothing. She never had the advantages I've taken for granted — a university education, overseas travel, a stable career. Yet she never once plays the victim. Whenever I visit, she's always cooking, gardening, or organising something.
What I find most inspiring is her attitude towards learning. She taught herself to read and write properly as an adult, and now she's completely comfortable using a smartphone — she video calls me, sends voice messages, even reads the news online. At her age, most people I know resist technology, but she's embraced it. She told me once, "If you stop learning, you start shrinking." That's stuck with me.
I admire her not because she's achieved something grand, but because she's made an ordinary life extraordinary through sheer determination and curiosity.

💬 Part 3 延伸
Q: Should younger people take care of elderly family members? I think it's a responsibility, but it shouldn't be the only safety net. Family provides emotional continuity, but formal care systems matter too, especially when medical needs are complex. The ideal is probably a mix.
